Shinhwa’s Eric has been working aggressively to make his comeback drama, “Poseidon“, a blockbuster hit. Addressing questions on when the new action drama will air, SBS has announced that “Poseidon” will air in the first half of 2011. Unfortunately, they’ve yet to release a confirmed start date.
“Poseidon” is garnering a high amount of interest because it’s the first Korean drama to focus on the life of marine police. Additionally, it boasts a stellar cast – Kim Kang Woo, Yunho, Kim Ok Bin, Jun Hye Bin, Kim Gab Soo, and many others have been contributing their efforts alongside Eric’s.
SBS officials have also revealed that Lee Minho’s comeback drama, “City Hunter”, will be delayed to a May broadcast instead of the original March schedule. No specific reasons were given for the delay.
“City Hunter” is an adaptation of the popular Japanese manga of the same name.

With the health of idols and their poor working conditions being a hot topic lately, it seems as if actresses aren’t exempt from the issue as well. Yoon Eun Hye alerted fans of her health condition by uploading photos of herself getting an IV treatment through her personal Twitter.
On December 26th, she wrote, “I slept for three hours at the hospital before going to the filming set in a daze. We filmed a few cuts and the director said that I shouldn’t film today ㅠ-ㅠ. This was the first time I canceled filming because I was sick, so it’s making me tear up a bit and definitely feel sorry for the staff! I should never be sick!…”
A few hours later, she added, “I’m getting an IV treatment to get better fast. I’ll be sleeping here tonight and getting better! Tomorrow morning, I’ll wake up and return to being the strong and healthy ‘Yumin’~! Please pray for me and ‘My Black Minidress.‘ I’ll get this IV and go to sleep...”
Fans expressed their upset feelings after seeing her exhausted face and commented, “Please get better soon,” “You have to take care of your health!,” and “That’s not a sel-ca, is it?”
“My Black Minidress” is an upcoming movie scheduled to release March of 2011 and features actresses such as Park Han Byul, Cha Ye Ryun, Yoo In Na, and Lee Yong Woo.

During a recent recording of tvN ‘E NEWS Behind Star’, actress Lee Min Jung, who is currently receiving explosive interest in Korea for her acting and CF deals, talked about hardships during her debut days.
“When I first debuted, the public response was little and showed no interest, and I thought of quitting my acting career. But ever since my role in ‘Boys Over Flowers‘, I obtained a lot of strength from the good public response,” expressed Lee Min Jung.
The actress also addressed her later-than-average debut in the acting world. “I first challenged myself with acting at 23 through a theater play, and at 25, I contracted with an entertainment company and began my broadcasting activites. After walking a different path to start my acting career, I had a comparatively late debut when compared to others.”
During the interview, Lee Min Jung shared a story about getting shouted at by a director during her debut days. “I couldn’t act to my director’s satisfaction, and he ended up shouting at me very loudly during the middle of filming. When I went home that day, I cried a lot.”
She has certainly come a long way to get to where she is now, but given her recent rise to prominence and fresh look, I don’t think many realize that she will be 28 in a couple months.

Looks like puppy’s having a good year. Triple threat singer/actor/MC Lee Seung-gi (My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho, Brilliant Legacy) is playing with the big boys now—he’s been nominated for SBS’ MC Daesang, up against veteran heavyweights Kang Ho-dong, Yoo Jae-suk, and Lee Gyung-gyu. There’s not so much a chance in hell that he’ll win, but that’s not the point, as being nominated with these guys is pretty much the highlight for such a relative newbie like him.
I say relative, of course, because compared to these comedians (all three come from the gagman-to-MC camp), 23-year old Lee Seung-gi is just a kid. Lee Gyung-gyu debuted before Seung-gi was even born; Kang Ho-dong debuted in 1988, Yoo Jae-suk shortly after in 1991. But despite his greenness, there’s something about Seung-gi that almost everyone universally acknowledges: what Koreans would call MC-chaejil, meaning he was born to do this.
He has this disarming way of making everybody love him, which isn’t so hard to believe since he’s everything from the Nation’s Little Brother to Korean moms’ number one pick for a son-in-law. He and Kang Ho-dong have fantastic chemistry as an odd couple, on bothStrong Heart and KBS’ 1 Night 2 Days, and frankly, theirs is my favorite tv bromance, because it’s real, and completely adorkable.
I think what makes him good is that he’s natural in front of the camera and doesn’t shy away from being himself, which is dorky and funny and naive. But his success as an MC has everything to do with Kang Ho-dong, who isn’t afraid to look bad while making Seung-gi look good. Together they have this great comic timing that makes them click.
I have no doubt that the real battle for the award will be between Kang Ho-dong and Yoo Jae-suk, as they are both at the top of their game and always neck-and-neck for the year-end MC awards. But it’s nice to see Seung-gi coming up in the world.
Lee Seung-gi and Kang Ho-dong (bottom right) are both nominated for Strong Heart (and Kang Ho-dong also for Star King); Yoo Jae-suk (top right) for Running Man; and Lee Gyung-gyu (top left) for Star Junior. The SBS Awards will air December 30.
On the 18th, CNBLUE held their official second concert, ‘Feel The Blue‘ in Seoul.
Being their second concert since the summer, the group showcased both their Korean and Japanese songs, proving to their fans that they have made a great improvement since their debut. As the holiday season is also near, the members performed several Christmas songs, warming up the sold-out crowd in the chilly weather.
In return for such a wonderful concert, fans of member Jung Yonghwa provided a dinner truck for all of the concert staff and the members, ending everything off on a happy note.
CNBLUE will also be holding a Christmas concert in Busan on the 24th.
